Description

This light spends too much time on red with the traffic traveling on Central. The stoplight is too quick to give the green to maybe one or two cars on Nims then will take more than enough time to give the green back to Central traffic long after the cars on Nims have moved through. The street is usually backed up more so in the afternoon when people are heading home around 5:00-5:30 PM but in the mornings it happens as well around peak times. I’ve witnessed several people run the red light (typically in the morning) waiting for it to go green because there is barely any traffic on Nims that warrant such a long stop to Central street traffic. This is an important intersection that sees a lot of traffic from downtown employees, nearby apartments, keeper of the plains visitors, and Central-West Wichita residents.
