Water Bill: What is ERU

The number of Equivalent Residential Units (ERUs) defines the amount of impervious surface from which water runs off and into the stormwater system. One ERU equals 2,139 square feet of surface that is covered in asphalt, concrete or other non-porous material.  ERUs are used to calculate the monthly Stormwater charges shown on the water bill.
